About Prasanna Hegde
Prasanna S. Hegde is an highly acomplished, Rehabilitation Council of India certified (CRR No A37862) Speech Language Pathologist working in Bengaluru since 2013. He is currently serving as a Program Director and Clinical Lead at Deglutology and Speech-Language Pathology at HCG Hospitals, Bengaluru. He has been working for Head and Neck Cancer Rehabilitation since the last 6 years. He is also a Clinical Advisory for Nestle Health Sciences, Chief Technology and Patient Liaison Officer and Assistant Professor in Naseema Institute of Speech and Hearing.
He is the founding member and founding secretary of Society for Feeding and Swallowing Disorders. He is an Executive Council member in Indian Speech and Hearing Association – Bengaluru Chapter in addition to being the member of Indian Speech and Hearing Association, Tele-medicine Society of India and Indian Federation of Neurorehabilitation. He is also co-ordinator for Dysphagia SIG of ISHA and task force member of IFNR.
He has worked in neurorehabilitation clinics, multi-specialty
hospitals, and he was instrumental in establishing various speech and hearing clinics in collaboration with medical and allied health care professionals.
He has completed his Bachelors in Speech and Hearing at Dr. S. R. Chandrasekar Institute of Speech and Hearing and Masters in Speech Language Pathology at All India Institute of Speech and Hearing, Mysore. He is an MBSImp certified clinician and completed foundation course on FEES, certificate courses on Tracheostomy management, Head and Neck cancer and Neurorehabilitation.
He is the founder of SLPQuest a education platform for capacity building in Speech-Language Pathology, a venture of Insight Rehabilitation. He has initiated various programs for academics, research and clinical services and skill development. He is one of the course instructor and coordinator for Onco-deglutology fellowship and certificate courses on head and neck rehabilitation, deglutology and instrumental evaluation of swallowing. He is also a faculty for fellowship courses and allied healthcare courses across universities.
He has been a resource person for more than 50 national and state conferences focusing on rehabilitation in Neurological disorders, developmental disorders, Head, Neck and related cancers and innovation in the field of rehabilitation. He was a core organizing committee member in successful completion of 2010 & 2019 Annual National Conference of Indian Speech and
Hearing Association.
His team has been awarded the best poster presentation in ISAM 2010 and Annual conference of TSI in 2022. He is also awarded the Young Investigator Award at AOCNR 2020. In addition to being full time clinician he has published his research work in national and international journals and presented research works at various national level conference on head and neck cancer and neurorehabilitation. He has developed his interest and skills for an effective team rehabilitation of Individuals with Neurological Disorders and Head and Neck Cancer. His focus area is chemesthesis, speech and swallow rehabilitation in adults.
